Tramps Transgender Military Ban

Dear Friends,

Since the election of Donald Trump, our Latinx and LGBTQ communities have been discriminated to the utmost degree. His actions have gone against the ideals of our country's Founders by opposing our most basic rights to love, liberty, and pursuit of happiness as Americans and contributors.

This morning, the Supreme Court of the United States has supported the bigotry and hate of this President; with a 5-4 ruling, they have discriminated against our transgender brothers and sisters in the Military. Indeed elections have consequences.

As we celebrated one of America’s hero, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we must recall his words that, “history will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people.”

Our transgender service members have risked their lives in the name of maintaining our basic human rights. This hate-filled transgender ban is yet another edict to deny our transgender siblings of their authentic selves, to seek the medical care they deserve as they bravely serve, protect and sacrifice for our country. We can not keep silent.

We must continue to use our collective voice and pressure our representatives to stand up for what is right - regardless of party.

We must continue to be resilient and show our strength at the ballot box in 2020.

We must continue to resist and fight hate - even when it comes from the highest office in our country.

Elections have consequences and we can not continue to keep silent. Call your representatives to let them know of your opposition to this ruling.
